When taken away from his school and his football team the mudlarks to go and live on a yacht michael is not overjoyed. But then his is thrown into the sea and he washes up on a small desert island. He thinks that he is alone on the island but when fruit appears beside him he rethinks his thoughts. I would recommend as an age rating for the book 9-12

People are always complaining that Michael Morpurgo writes too much about war. If you would prefer not to read about war, this book is an amazing place to start (:

Although this book is sometimes sad, it is a very unique and different book from all the rest, and its like a not so old- fashioned Robinson Crusoe except it is a boy. This book is also quite mysterious and I would recommend this book to anyone who likes adventure stories.
